So many of our apparent choices in this digital age are predetermined for us – we are constantly being directed. Online recommendations steer us away from what is unrelated, unfamiliar and unexpected. This effectively edits out anything that challenges our pre-existing beliefs and interests.
It is clear that hiking is now an extremely favoured fitness trend; even expected to surpass the popularity of yoga in 2019. With health, fitness, mindfulness and general wellbeing firmly taking centre stage in all aspects of our life, we want to understand why and how this activity can have a positive impact on us both physically and psychologically.

We recently visited an exciting new Stationery Show launched in Manchester UK; a sister show to the successful London Stationery Show held at the Business Design Centre in April (check out our LSS blog post review from earlier in the year). This month we saw the second specialist paper and writing product show held in the beautiful Victoria Warehouse building in Old Trafford.
This brand new event was designed to attract more visitors closer to the North of England and compliment with the timing of its elder sister. The venue was intimate, it felt friendly and inviting; the Victoria Warehouse is a historic, solid Mancunian landmark which has been developed into a modern, industrial chic space. Its exposed brick walls and huge repurposed spool tables gave an interesting and unique backdrop to some amazing stationery product.

Designers across the globe are trying to reduce the ecological effect of their work, architects and interior experts are choosing to look to new realms & frontiers in search of new, sustainable materials.
Some of the surface textures in these materials are very special and they feel beautiful to touch. Through the continued improvement in the management of industry processes (food, fashion etc) these by-products are readily availability and therefore have negligible impact on our environment.
