This trend was created over 2 years ago and we are now starting to see how it has been translated and interpreted by major retailers throughout the UK. On our recent visit to Spring Fair, we tracked 2 of the most widespread trends influencing 2020 design direction; Satori and The Traveller.

From Tektura’s newly launched Teahouse and Honshu wallpaper to Paperchase’s Order and Purpose stationery collection and Le Creuset’s Zen Kitchen range. We are seeing the beautiful simplicity of Japanese culture inspire product design across multiple sectors.
Colours are muted in tone often soft, composed, and calm. Washed denim blues, fresh green and subtle hints of metallic weathered gold create a quiet and understated palette of zen hues. Indigo blue and Koi Red also have their place communicating traditional references to Japan.
