Highlights from Decor & Design Show, Melbourne Australia 2019

After a very busy few weeks since returning to the UK after our time in Australia, we are finally able to show you some of the highlights from Decor & Design show; Australia’s Number 1 Interior Design trade event. Our sold-out Trend Tours provided visitors with insightful trend information, as well as a guided translation of each trend into product design direction seen on the show floor. Our colour palette fabric sample give-a-ways (sponsored by Ultra Fabrics) proved a huge hit with the interior design visitors, and our material display tables and trend-led room sets created the perfect Instagram photo for everyone! We had a very engaging and lively experience at the exhibition with lots of positive feedback from both the exhibitors and visitors.

This year, we added a couple of extra visitor features including the creation of 2 room set areas that represented two of our Macro Trends for 2020; Fellowship & Satori…

Take a look at the video highlights…

We sourced relevant pieces and props from many different designers around the world to build the story and style the display, with furniture pieces supplied by La Forma; an exhibitor at the show. The ‘hero’ products of the stand however; and the most photographed without a doubt was most definitely the Kinsugi Pebble Felt pieces by Ronel Jordaan, cushions by Aya Textile Craftworks and Marianna Mills, and the Faceted Wood Stool by Tesler & Mendelovitch. These exceptionally crafted, one-off, timeless pieces told the story of our trend perfectly and attracted anybody who walked by them!

Our second Trend was Fellowship; a trend that aims to build community and encourage collaboration in order to carve a better future. This vibrant and expressive trend showcased a bold mix of colour and pattern with a global outlook. It celebrates cultural diversity and rightly places ethics at the centre of decision making in all aspects. On display we had a mix of brightly coloured weaves by Laura Trowsdale & Linton Tweeds, Terrazzo pieces from ByLiving and Emily Marlin, an amazing, bold concrete floor slab from Concrete Republic and perfectly matched, bespoke coloured curtain rods by Colour Stick… just to name a few.
